2014 Dear Members and Friends of Nechung Buddhist Center,
Tashi Delek! This is to inform that we have start collecting membership due and donations for 2014. Many of our members have already given their membership. If you haven't given yours, please do so.
The annual membership rate for individuals is $ 25.00 and $40.00 for a family. If you would like to become a patron, sponsor and donor for the center, please check the following options. Your membership and donation is important in supporting the center. We will also send the membership list to Kuten-la and the Nechung Monastery in Dharamsala, India. Please make sure you include your name and mailing address.
There is no doubt that this year's Losar ( Tibetan New Year ) was one of the most auspicious ones because of all of us having received blessings and teachings from His Holiness the Dalai Lama during his visit in Bay Area. Keeping his precious teachings in mind, NBC is determined to offer all possible Dharma services to the best of our ability for the benefit of all beings.
The Losar ceremony at the Nechung Center was remarkably successful with crowds of people both in and out of the Gompa during the ceremony. People came to make their scarf offerings all day long, Our staff and volunteers were there serving people till late evening.
Last year our Gompa was often packed with full people on Tsok days which, which we hold twice a month along with other special events. Our resident monk Ven. Ngawang Khenrab has been seeing more new faces every time and has been busy offering his prayers, services and consultations to individuals, families and other community members who knock on the Center'e door.
We expect to have some exciting events this year including Kuten la's (the Medium of the State Oracle) possible visit later this year, so stay in touch.
